Jade Tree-frog

I don't see many frogs but this is one stunning amphibian. The Jade Tree-frog is a forest canopy dweller but if there are suitable pools or waterlogged areas on the forest floor, it can congregate in numbers for breeding. Happy to see this one close to the ground on a night walk.

This species of frog creates foam nests positioned one to two metres above a suitable body of water to receive the emerging tadpoles.

The beautiful colors of this frog make it quite conspicuous with a yellowish head, yellowish green sides and a translucent pale blue flanks. Reminds me of bubble-gum blowing when they puff up the throat to sound off.
