Black and Red Broadbill

I'd call it the lipstick bird if it hadn't already got a name and you would agree why. If they were lined up with some Aussie beach-goer sporting neon sunscreen, who do you think would win in terms of conspicuousness? It's quite amazing to see a bird with a neon blue upper beak and bright yellow lower beak. Do forgive the manners of this winged beauty, I always seem to capture birds pooping. 

 This Broadbill popped up in front of a group of eager photographers one late afternoon at the Rainforest Discovery Centre of Sepilok. It's often seen in pairs along river banks and builds nests suspended from branches over the water. The nests looks like river debris trapped by the branches that they hang from.
