Brahmaea hearseyi

Recorded at The Nest, Maxwell's Hill, Malaysia

A beautiful and scary looking moth. At first glance you feel the eyes are staring at you.  If one imagines hard enough, we could see the face of an owl. This specimen was about 15cm wide. Attracted to the lights placed behind the kitchen of the Nest.

This is the single species of Brahmid moth found in Peninsular Malaysia.
