Loepa sikkima

Recorded Width: 96mm, Height: 42mm    Nest, Maxwell's Hill, Malaysia

A relatively small emperor when compared to the rest of the Saturniidae family but it is without doubt one of the most stunning of moths you will encounter. The rich yellow base makes the four 'eyes' stand out, and the pink and red flashes will definitely draw any moth observer's attention. No one will think that moths are boring and brown after looking at this masterpiece.
