Black and Yellow Broadbill

This is such a handsome looking bird. The distinctive white collar reminds me of a butler but the yellow tertiaries draped over the shoulder do hint of a conga dancer.

The Black and Yellow Broadbill also has a call to match its handsome looks - it lets off a loud buzzing trill and you can see their blue beaks vibrate as they call out.

It is the commonest broadbill in Borneo. The island is considered a hot-spot for broadbills with 8 species, including 2 endemic species found here. There are 15 species world-wide.
